State Minister of Skills Development, Vocational Education, Research and Innovation, Dr. Seetha Arambepola offered appointment letters to the Board and the Advisory Board of the newly established Institute of Nursing & Health Care Studies – (INHCS) which trains nursing and health staff for local and foreign job opportunities.
The institute will also provide NVQ 6 Diploma Certificate in Internationally Recognized Nursing, which will provide skilled workers for various fields overseas by launching up-to-date courses tailored to the needs of the nursing profession in foreign countries. It is proposed to construct a new training complex in Malabe under the supervision of the National Apprenticeship and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA). Plans are also underway to partner with existing private sector hospitals in the country to provide on-the-job training opportunities at the end of the course.
On this occasion, the Hon. Minister of State had a lengthy discussion with the Board and Advisory Board of the INHCS on the future activities of the institute.
Dr. Upali Banagala, Specialist Dr. Hiran Amarasekara, Dr. Bawantha Gamage, Specialist Dr. Indika Mr. Karunatilake and others participated in this event.
