Encouraging Sri Lankan youth seeking employment with Diamond Cutting Industry

Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) were signed between the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka and Diamond Cutters Ltd with the objective of training young Sri Lankans seeking vocational training in the field of diamond cutting. The event was held under the patronage of Hon. Minister of Skills Development, Vocational Education, Research and Innovation Dr. Seetha Arambepola at the Diamond Cutters premises in Panadura today (30)
Apprentices to the new course will also have the opportunity to receive six months of field training at Diamond Cutters Ltd, which aims to employ graduates who have completed the course. An allowance will also be given during the training period.
Chairman of the Vocational Training Authority Mr. Eranga Basnayake, Managing Director of Diamond Cutters Mr. Sanjay Baid, General Manager of the Vocational Training Authority Mr. Moin Zoomer and a number of students who qualified for the new course were also present at the occasion. After the program, the State Minister also participated in an observation tour of the institute.
