The Inaugural Ceremony for the recruitment of apprentices for the Ceylon German Technical Training Institute – 2021

Friday, December 17th, 2021
The inaugural ceremony for the recruitment of apprentices for the year 2021 for the German Technical Training Institute of Sri Lanka was held at the Borella Regional Center today (16) under the patronage of the State Minister of Skills Development, Vocational Education, Research and Innovation
Hon. Dr. Seetha Arambepola.
Fifty apprentices had the opportunity to study the Three Wheeler Repair Technician Course, which aims to give new hope to Sri Lankan youth and provide them with quality professional qualifications. These apprentices include children with speech impairments. Under the instructions of the Hon. Minister, the center has allocated an amount of Rs. 5 million to provide state-of-the-art learning equipment to make it easier for students to study.
The duration of the course is one year, during which six months of on-the-job practical training will be imparted at the David Peiris Motor Company Limited. Apprentices who successfully complete this course will be awarded the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ 4).
Accordingly, another opportunity was launched today as part of the great mission of creating a skilled workforce in the future world instead of an unskilled labor force.
